Laura is wonderful, caring, honest and professional. She has provided my son with a Turtle brace which was used instead of serial casting for a foot deformity.
The use of this brace has been such a positive one muscle mass maintained movement and flexibility maintained and being able to check on skin integrity were all reasons for choice of product over plaster casts.
We were able to bath my son and wear normal clothes on top of breaking him into wearing it has all been such a positive for our complex child.
From an orthopaedics consults point of view they have been very happy with the end result correction of foot position along with carry over of foot position when not wearing the brace.
The appointments were easy to book the plan was set out in advice of costings and what was involved

Osteoarthritis & Knee Brace ” I felt safe and reassured by her calm professionalism…”
I am enormously grateful to Laura for identifying and supplying me with my knee brace to help me cope with Osteoarthritis in my knee which came on very suddenly and took me by surprise and with my knee deteriorating very quickly from normal to excruciatingly painful, life became a struggle.
The brace helped to reverse this enabling me to remain active, which is very important to me. It has helped reduce an extremely painful and unfortunately chronic condition to bearable, without having to resort to pain killers or walking sticks.
It took me a couple of months to get used to the brace and for the pain to reduce but after that there was no looking back and a year on I am still using it and it undoubtably helps me to continue to enjoy the activities that I used to enjoy without a second thought in particular low impact exercise such walking, Pilates and Yoga and hidden under the right clothes most people don’t even know that I’m wearing it.
I did consider buying a knee brace off the peg but there are so many on the market I had no idea where to start. Thankfully, I found Laura and Back into Action (thanks to a recommendation from my Physio) and I firmly believe that without her expertise and guidance I would probably have chosen an inappropriate or less effective device.
Right from our first meeting I felt safe and reassured by her calm professionalism. She took all the hard work out of finding the correct device for me, fitted it for me and taught me how to use it.

Paediatrics & Turtle Brace: “Laura is attentive, professional…”
My son had been toe-walking for 18 months and his muscles in the back of his legs hadn’t grown because of this. It made it impossible for him to stand on his feet together and flat . We worked with Laura over the last two months having Turtle braces fitted and remoulded 3 times to slowly lengthen the leg muscles.
Everything has worked great so far and we are now working on how we continue the treatment to prevent him toe-walking without any orthotics.
Laura is attentive, professional and has taken the time to really consider what will work in my son’s case.

Neurological conditions & AFO’s: “Balance has improved and I am now able to stand straighter…”
Laura prescribed hinged orthotic AFO’s to help with ankle and foot instability as my progressive neurological condition had progressed. They have taken time to get used to wearing as my gait has now changed after years of my body compensating for the change in my walking pattern.
I am now not putting so much weight through my crutches. Balance has improved I am now able to stand straighter and do tasks stood up without having to hold on to surfaces. Walking is improving as I am able to step through and lift my feet. Stepping up steps is progressing well. I am extremely pleased with the AFO’s and Laura’s expertise in providing this service and her support and follow up.

Laura has been incredibly supportive, and knowledgeable throughout my entire process of being helped. She listened to everything I had to say with deep understanding of my goals and aspirations. And provided back a thorough review over many conversations and an in person assessment to figure out exactly what would be best for me.
I was listened to every step of the way, and in every moment felt actually like a person, which I’ve found to be so rare in other medical appointments! “I really felt that I was being listened to as a person…”
I can say with confidence that in all, this appointment was one of the best appointments I’ve ever been to. I really felt that I was being listened to as a person and not just a patient or number. But also the level of care and knowledge that was displayed was so professional. I felt in good hands and well taken care of. I’ve never been really to a private appointment before but the time that was put into this appointment, along with the very clear from both Laura and Sian of costs of any future appointments / steps, again made me feel so much more like a person that I have felt in appointments elsewhere in the past.
Every step of the appointment was brilliantly explained, despite so much happening I felt that I was able to say and explain absolutely everything that I needed to, as well as a number of examinations, discussions and overall lots of progress happened to move onto the next steps of my treatment! I have nothing at all to say negatively about my experience.

Chest wall conditions: “She is so very lovely and really put my son at ease.”
Lewis Brand Orthotics have been fantastic. My son has Pectus Excavatum and he had previously visited the doctor when younger and told it was fine and not offered any help. As he got older he was conscious of the dip in his chest and read up on it and found that some people had used a vacuum bell which had helped to reduce the dip. We visited a different doctor and he arranged for him to see a consultant through the NHS but as it was not causing any medical issues there was nothing he could do to help through the NHS. We asked about the vacuum bell and he agreed some people do try them but our NHS England area didn’t support this so only way would be to purchase independently. I enquired but all showed fairly high costs in private clinics quite a distance from us.
My son saw a report about that they used in Scotland and started researching where they purchased a proper medical grade one from. I contacted the distributor anxious to try and purchase one before the time had passed before he got older as there is an optimum time it may help more and the younger you are the better. However they could not supply directly to me as it needed suitability checking/measuring/fitting and a qualified person to do this and to ensure being used correctly and monitoring. They said they knew someone not too far away from our area and put me in touch with Laura. She explained everything and arranged to see her.
We went and Laura was fantastic. She went through absolutely everything, answered our exhaustive questions and checked suitability etc. then she ordered one. The following week we went and practiced fitting it and using it. Also answered more questions. She is so very lovely and really put my son at ease. So I would highly recommend Laura if you are in the same situation as us and desperate to try to reduce the dip. Thank you so much Laura. He is now on his journey continuing using his Klobe vacuum bell.

We had a fantastic experience with LEWis BRAND Orthotics when attending for our son, who requires an AFO. Laura’s foot scan analysis completed in clinic was extremely thorough and reassuring. Following the appointment, we were provided with a very detailed and comprehensive report from the foot scan, which was incredibly valuable and helpful to share with his physiotherapist.
Laura was wonderful with our son, using toys to help keep him comfortable and engaged throughout the appointment. As parents, we felt truly listened to and well supported, and Laura guided us clearly on the most suitable AFO for his needs. At every stage, she has been incredibly supportive, offering helpful advice, including recommendations for the best shoes to use. Peripheral neuropathy & AFO’s: The beneficial effect was immediate and little short of miraculous!
Because of my relatively advanced peripheral neuropathy I was recommended by Jenny Giddings, my physio, to contact Laura Aggett for an assessment. I had no idea what to expect, but the assessment was straightforward and enabled Laura to recommend and design a pair of inserts to be worn together with a pair of AFOs which serve to raise my fallen feet such that I was given the more-or-less immediate benefit of the confidence to walk normally rather than walking as if treading grapes, lifting my feet to avoid the constant danger of stumbling, and perhaps falling.
The beneficial effect was immediate and little short of miraculous! I wear the insets and AFOs at all times except when in bed or in the shower, and I feel completely safe once again on my own two feet. This also has the benefit of emphasising balance as the problem now to be solved, and in identifying and isolating the circumstances, especially crowded environments in which I must take special care.

From start to finish, the whole process was really easy and straightforward.
I needed orthotics to address hyper-mobility in my ankle joints, both to improve my stability now and to help future-proof against potential issues down the line. Everything was clearly explained, and the assessment felt thorough and tailored rather than generic.
After following the recommended breaking-in process, the insoles are now super comfortable. I’ve especially noticed a real difference during gym sessions — my balance feels much more stable, which has made a big difference to how confident I feel when training.
I’m really pleased with the results so far and would happily recommend Lewis Brand Orthotics.
