My son had been toe-walking for 18 months and his muscles in the back of his legs hadn’t grown because of this. It made it impossible for him to stand on his feet together and flat . We worked with Laura over the last two months having Turtlebraces fitted and remoulded 3 times to slowly lengthen the leg muscles.
Everything has worked great so far and we are now working on how we continue the treatment to prevent him toe-walking without any orthotics.
Laura is attentive, professional and has taken the time to really consider what will work in my son’s case.

Laura prescribed hinged orthotic AFO’s to help with ankle and foot instability as my progressive neurological condition had progressed. They have taken time to get used to wearing as my gait has now changed after years of my body compensating for the change in my walking pattern.
I am now not putting so much weight through my crutches. Balance has improved I am now able to stand straighter and do tasks stood up without having to hold on to surfaces. Walking is improving as I am able to step through and lift my feet. Stepping up steps is progressing well. I am extremely pleased with the AFO’s and Laura’s expertise in providing this service and her support and follow up.

Absolutely amazing experience at Lewis Brand Orthotics. As someone with Type 2 diabetes with peripheral neuropathy, I recently suffered an episode of Charcot foot, which drove my need for specialised orthotics. I came in feeling incredibly overwhelmed, but Laura completely turned things around. Laura has been incredibly supportive, and knowledgeable throughout my entire process of being helped. She listened to everything I had to say with deep understanding of my goals and aspirations. And provided back a thorough review over many conversations and an in person assessment to figure out exactly what would be best for me.
I was listened to every step of the way, and in every moment felt actually like a person, which I’ve found to be so rare in other medical appointments! Wow! I had no idea what a specialist field orthotics actually is. Laura is a great educator, she walks you through everything in a way that just makes sense. She’s professional, personable, gives you some control back and a clear understanding of what’s realistically possible (not just the limitations). Left with a spring in my step… nearly!!

I can say with confidence that in all, this appointment was one of the best appointments I’ve ever been to. I really felt that I was being listened to as a person and not just a patient or number. But also the level of care and knowledge that was displayed was so professional. I felt in good hands and well taken care of. I’ve never been really to a private appointment before but teh time that was put into this appointment, along with the very clear from both Laura and Sian of costs of any future apppointments / steps, again made me feel so much more like a person that I have felt in appointments elsewhere in the past. Every step of teh appointment was brilliantly explained, despite so much happening I felt that I was able to say and explain absolutely everything that I needed to, as well as a number of examinations, discussions and overall lots of progress happended to move onto the next steps of my treatment! I have nothing at all to say negatively about my experience.

We saw Laura as our toddler has positional talipes. Laura did a full assessment and we now have a treatment with orthotics, very thorough and Laura really made our son feel at ease!

Lewis Brand Orthotics have been fantastic. My son has Pectus Excavatum and he had previously visited the doctor when younger and told it was fine and not offered any help. As he got older he was conscious of the dip in his chest and read up on it and found that some people had used a vacuum bell which had helped to reduce the dip. We visited a different doctor and he arranged for him to see a consultant through the NHS but as it was not causing any medical issues there was nothing he could do to help through the NHS. We asked about the vacuum bell and he agreed some people do try them but our NHS England area didn’t support this so only way would be to purchase independently. I enquired but all showed fairly high costs in private clinics quite a distance from us. My son saw a report about that they used in Scotland and started researching where they purchased a proper medical grade one from. I contacted the distributor anxious to try and purchase one before the time had passed before he got older as there is an optimum time it may help more and the younger you are the better. However they could not supply directly to me as it needed suitability checking/measuring/fitting and a qualified person to do this and to ensure being used correctly and monitoring. They said they knew someone not too far away from our area and put me in touch with Laura. She explained everything and arranged to see her. We went and Laura was fantastic. She went through absolutely everything, answered our exhaustive questions and checked suitability etc. then she ordered one. The following week we went and practiced fitting it and using it. Also answered more questions. She is so very lovely and really put my son at ease. So I would highly recommend Laura if you are in the same situation as us and desperate to try to reduce the dip. Thank you so much Laura. He is now on his journey continuing using his Klobe vacuum bell.

We had a fantastic experience with LEWis BRAND Orthotics when attending for our son, who requires an AFO. Laura’s foot scan analysis completed in clinic was extremely thorough and reassuring. Following the appointment, we were provided with a very detailed and comprehensive report from the foot scan, which was incredibly valuable and helpful to share with his physiotherapist. Laura was wonderful with our son, using toys to help keep him comfortable and engaged throughout the appointment. As parents, we felt truly listened to and well supported, and Laura guided us clearly on the most suitable AFO for his needs. At every stage, she has been incredibly supportive, offering helpful advice, including recommendations for the best shoes to use.
