Non-surgical orthotic treatments for Pectus Excavatum & Pectus Carinatum
We provide specialist non-surgical orthotic management for the chest wall conditions, Pectus Excavatum & Pectus Carinatum. These conservative orthotic treatments offered aim to gently guide the chest wall as it grows or remodels over time.
The treatment is most effective when:
-
The chest wall is still flexible
-
Growth is ongoing
-
The individual is motivated and supported
Orthotic treatment options we offer:
-
Vacuum Bell Therapy (for Pectus Excavatum)
-
Pectus Carinatum Bracing
Every case is assess individually, and honest guidance is given if orthotic treatment is unlikely to be effective.
Orthotic treatment does not prevent surgery later in life, but in many cases it can significantly reduce or eliminate the need for it.
“Lewis Brand Orthotics have been fantastic. My son has Pectus Excavatum but as it was not causing any medical issues there was nothing he could do to help through the NHS…
We went [to LEWis Brand Orthotics] and Laura was fantastic..She went through absolutely everything, answered our exhaustive questions and checked suitability etc… …She is so very lovely and really put my son at ease…
I would highly recommend Laura if you are in the same situation as us and desperate to try to reduce the dip…
[My son]is now on his journey continuing using his Klobe vacuum bell.”
