Why Bespoke Footwear?

When foot alignment, joint position, or muscle control is significantly altered — through neurological, orthopaedic, or acquired conditions — standard footwear often fails to fit properly or support the foot in the right way.

Bespoke orthopaedic shoes are:

  • Individually designed around your exact measurements and clinical presentation

  • Built to accommodate orthotic devices such as AFOs or custom insoles

  • Constructed to correct or stabilise foot and ankle alignment

  • Made for real life — combining function, comfort, and durability

For many clients, the right footwear is not just about walking comfortably — it’s about independence, confidence, and safety in daily life.

Our Process: Design, Construction and Precision Fit

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our ability to take a concept from clinical assessment to finished product.

1️⃣ Comprehensive Assessment

We begin with a full biomechanical and footwear review, assessing your foot shape, alignment, gait, pain or other symptoms and any orthotic devices in use.

2️⃣ Custom Design & Specification

Each pair of shoes is individually specified — including materials, fastenings, height, toe shape, sole density, and any required adaptations for stability or correction. We’ll discuss your priorities, from comfort and function to style and everyday practicality.

3️⃣ Expert Manufacture

We collaborate with high-quality orthopaedic footwear manufacturers, ensuring precision craftsmanship and consistent standards. Every pair is built to your exact measurements and clinical prescription.

4️⃣ Fitting & Final Adjustments

At your fitting appointment, we make sure the footwear fits perfectly and functions as intended — adjusting where necessary for comfort, alignment, and performance.  We stress to you how important it is you tell us what your feeling at this appointment so we can make any alterations or adaptions to ensure your comfort and confidence in the bespoke footwear.

Understanding Costs

We know that cost is an important consideration when planning your care, and we want to be as open and helpful as possible.

All bespoke footwear is priced individually after your assessment and consultation, as every design is unique to your needs and preferences.

To give you a general idea:

  • Modular or semi-bespoke footwear starts from around £300+

  • Fully bespoke footwear, made to your cast, measurements or 3D scan, starts from around £1,200 per pair

We’ll always discuss your options clearly during your appointment so you can make an informed decision that feels right for you — both clinically and financially.
